WE WELCOME YOUR DONATION

Our mission is based on a foundation of support from three fundamental groups – Travis High School alumni, parents of current students, and local community supporters.  Our goal is to build an ongoing fundraising association in

which to enhance the overall educational experience of the students at Travis High School.

We also will focus on building an ongoing support system by connecting together alumni from the various student activity groups and tap into possible financial resources.

Thank you for supporting these Fine Arts areas (Art, Band, Choir, Dance, Guitar, Mariachi Band, Orchestra and Theatre).

To donate, please send a check to the address below. Note on the check (or use this Donation Letter form) how you want the donation to be used (either for one or more of the Fine Arts groups or for the entire Fine Arts group). If no specification is made, the donation will go into the General Fine Arts Fund. Please note that donations are tax-exempt as the funds are donated to Travis High School/Austin ISD. When your donation is processed (using the Donation Form above), a tax-exemption receipt will be mailed (or emailed) to you.

Here is how the allocation of the Fine Arts funds will be applied and the process to be used for determination of funds and the disbursement:

Allocation Rule:

Each donation targeted to a specific Fine Arts area will have 25% of that donation put into the General Fine Arts allocation of monies; the rest of the specific donation can be used for the specified Fine Arts department.

Process for determination of distribution of funds:

The Fine Arts Board will review the monies and requests monthly, either in person in a group meeting or by email vote. Each board representative gets two votes, with alumni and/or former teachers receiving one vote to be used only towards the General Fine Arts allocation. This puts the responsibility of the voting for needs on the Board representatives more closely tied to the Fine Arts departments’ needs (assuming that these representatives have children in these areas; possibly more than one).

The Fine Arts Board will:

  • Review the monies available and for which area that they were donated

  • Determine how much of the monies are in the General Fine Arts allocation versus each Fine Arts Department (unless provided by the school treasurer)

  • Cast their vote(s) for the needs of each department

  • Provide the list of disbursements to the school treasurer with a copy of the list provided to the Fine Arts teachers and the school principal
